Kind of surprised they aren't aware how important wishlists are for devs. It's a call to action like "pre-order now!" and more useful than a website or newsletter now. Devs and stores like Steam and Epic can extrapolate data from the number of wishlists. If you're intrigued by a game and get reminded to wishlist it, you're simply more likely to do so. Some games also get announced and shown off before they manage to get a deal with Steam or Epic to appear on their respective platform. If this is THE event where the dev can reach the most amount of people without a massive marketing budget, they'll get a huge up tick in wishlists and eventual sales. Asking them to wishlist now means it's less likely to be completely forgotten and fail.
Essentially, it's the same reason why the Allies keep repeating to support them on patreon or why youtubers in general keep asking people to like and subscribe. Simple as that.
Very excited for Friends of Mineral Town, but I imagine it's frustrating to market a remake when you can't even say the original game's title. "The original farming simulation series… you know the one we mean. No, it's not Stardew Valley…"

Contrary to what they were saying, those vocals during the In Sound Mind trailer got me hooked… I'm in it, felt very prog, like Leprous or something… Disappointing since Ben generally likes metal music and that definitely was hitting imo
